Little Ol' Lady, Big Ol' Accessories

Why is it that as women get older, every thing they buy or wear gets bigger? Hair-do's, underwear, earrings and necklaces that would make Mr. T blush, eye-glasses, purses that couldn't pass for carry-on baggage. It doesn't stop there of course, as every elderly lady needs an enormous car with a hood so long it blends into the horizon (the ability to see beyond the hood's end is a non-issue, really, since they can't see over the steering wheel).
